Located in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, we designed the Loryne Headquarters as a contemporary office building conceived as a strong architectural landmark, expressing both the company’s identity and a climate-responsive approach adapted to the Sahelian context.

Our architectural concept is based on a clear and structured composition, where each façade is designed as a specific response to environmental conditions while contributing to the overall architectural identity of the building. The project establishes a dialogue between two complementary expressions: a dynamic, solar-protected southern façade and a more solid and controlled western façade.

The southern façade is defined by orange brise-soleil, a signature element that reflects the dynamism of the company’s visual identity. Beyond their symbolic value, these elements provide effective solar protection, significantly reducing heat gain while ensuring controlled natural daylight within the office spaces—an essential response to the hot climate of Ouagadougou.

The western façade is treated as a more compact and protective surface, composed of a grey wall punctuated by vertical slits. This system filters the intense low-angle western sun while allowing controlled natural ventilation and introducing a strong vertical rhythm to the composition. This approach reinforces the building’s bioclimatic strategy by limiting late-afternoon overheating and improving indoor comfort.

The project follows a comprehensive bioclimatic approach, where orientation, solar control, and daylight optimization directly shape our architectural decisions. The office spaces benefit from improved thermal comfort, energy efficiency, and high-quality working conditions throughout the building.

This project expresses our vision of a contemporary, identity-driven, and climate-responsive office architecture, where each façade becomes a precise environmental response while contributing to a strong and recognizable architectural presence.
