Designed for Koira Hôtel Investment SA, Bamako Mall is a high-rise mixed-use development (2 basements + R+10) located in the ACI 2000 business district of Bamako. Set on a 12,892 m² plot, the project develops a total built area of 72,230 m², establishing a new urban hub that combines retail, offices, residential units, and leisure functions within a single integrated vertical structure.

The project is driven by a strong ambition: to create a hybrid and vertical urban landmark capable of structuring commercial and tertiary activities in the capital while offering a fluid and contemporary architectural experience. The program is organized in clear functional layers: an active commercial base, leisure and restaurant levels, flexible office floors, residential apartments, and extensive underground parking infrastructure designed to meet the needs of the site.

The shopping mall occupies the ground floor and two mezzanine levels, hosting a supermarket, retail units, and restaurants, supported by an efficient independent logistics system with dedicated service access, loading docks, and delivery areas. Upper levels accommodate restaurants opening onto terraces, followed by office floors and residential apartments, designed with flexibility and variety to suit modern urban lifestyles.

The architectural identity of the project is defined by a strong and iconic expression. The commercial base is wrapped in a diamond-patterned metal double skin, creating a dynamic and protective urban façade. Above it, a glazed volume dedicated to restaurants introduces lightness and transparency, while a media screen facing Avenue de la Nation enhances the building’s urban visibility and presence. The overall composition is governed by a rigorous formal logic, balancing transparency, verticality, and functional clarity.

Office and residential façades are treated with full-height curtain walls on three sides, maximizing natural light and city views. The use of high-performance, self-cleaning glazing reflects a commitment to comfort, durability, and energy efficiency adapted to Bamako’s climatic conditions.

Particular attention was given to circulation and parking strategy, with more than 600 parking spaces across two basement levels, complemented by surface parking, ensuring optimal functionality for all building uses.

Through Bamako Mall, HBA Architecture expresses a contemporary vision of the African city: vertical, mixed-use, dynamic, and shaped by urban intensity and experiential quality.
