Located in Tunisia, the National Telecommunications Authority (INT) Headquarters is a competition project designed by HBA Architecture. It was conceived to express the institutional identity and technological ambition of a national communications authority, where architecture becomes a medium of representation, openness, and innovation.
The design approach is driven by the symbolic role of the institution, whose mission of communication and connectivity required a dynamic, open, and forward-looking architectural language. The building is intended as a strong national landmark, visible from the Route de la Marsa, asserting both modernity, clarity, and functionality.
A defining architectural gesture shapes the project: a concrete entrance structure inspired by the form of a telecommunications antenna. This iconic element reinforces the identity of the building and its connection to communication networks. Treated with openness and transparency, it allows natural light to penetrate into the heart of the project, enhancing visual depth and spatial continuity.
The entrance hall is conceived as a double-height space opening onto an interior landscaped garden. This central void creates a continuous relationship between architecture and nature, offering a place of movement, encounter, and informal communication that reflects the institutional culture of exchange and connectivity.
Given the evolving structure of the organization, the office floors are designed with high flexibility. A modular grid system of 1.30 m combined with raised flooring allows adaptable layouts, enabling spaces to expand or reorganize according to administrative needs and future organizational changes. This ensures long-term efficiency, adaptability, and functional performance.
The project is anchored in its site as a major architectural statement and is intended to become a reference building within its context, reflecting HBA Architecture’s vision of contemporary institutional architecture. where identity, technology, and spatial quality converge into a coherent and expressive design.
