On July 27, 2021, the construction site of the IBI Group headquarters, located in the heart of the Hamdallaye ACI 2000 neighborhood in Bamako, marked a significant milestone in the history of Malian construction.

On that day, a high-level delegation, led by Mr. Cheick Abdrahamane Kassibo, director of the GECI-EXPERT CONSEIL study office, visited this iconic construction site. The delegation also included senior officials from the subsidiaries of Orange France, Orange Senegal, and Orange Mali, who came to assess the progress and quality of this large-scale project.

The IBI Group headquarters project was initially designed with the ambition of becoming a model of modern architecture in West Africa, adhering to strict international standards essential for the safety and sustainability of large-scale buildings. These standards were fully incorporated into the design and construction process by the company BUILDERS and the HBA Architecture firm.

During the visit, the guests were impressed by the rigor and professionalism demonstrated to ensure that this project met the highest international standards.

A prestigious collaboration for an exceptional project.

The success of IBI Group’s headquarters in Bamako is not only due to the architectural vision and technical expertise employed but also to a close and fruitful collaboration between several key stakeholders.

BUILDERS and HBA Architecture were able to translate this vision into a tangible reality, taking into account the challenges inherent in constructing a building in a dense urban environment.

During the delegation’s visit, Orange representatives praised the work accomplished, commending the teams for their ability to meet deadlines while maintaining an exemplary level of quality.

This project, located in one of the most dynamic neighborhoods of Bamako, was already seen at the time as a showcase of Malian expertise and proof of the country’s ability to host modern and ambitious infrastructure.

Three years later: A lasting impact on the urban landscape of Bamako.

In 2024, three years after this memorable visit, the headquarters of IBI Group has become an integral part of Bamako’s urban landscape. The building, with its modern silhouette and reflective façades, is now a visual landmark that symbolizes the growth and modernity of the Malian capital.

Beyond its exterior appearance, the headquarters of IBI Group has also had a lasting impact on construction practices in Mali. The integration of the latest sustainable building technologies has served as a model for other ongoing projects in the country.

Moreover, the success of this project has strengthened HBA Architecture’s reputation on both the national and international stage. The firm is now recognized for its ability to successfully complete complex projects that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

The future of architecture in Mali: Inspired by the achievements of the past.

The headquarters of IBI Group remains a living testament to what the synergy between different areas of expertise can achieve. It continues to inspire a new generation of architects, engineers, and construction professionals in Mali, who view this project as a model to follow.
